Skyline Conference Reveals Fall 2023 All-Sportsmanship Teams

NEW YORK — Five members of St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) fall athletic teams were named to the Skyline Conference All-Sportsmanship teams, as announced by the league office earlier this week. The conference recognizes All-Sportsmanship Team members in all 19 of its championship sports, with each program announcing one recipient for his or her sportsmanlike demeanor – both in and out of competition.

Women's Cross Country: Lauren Van Der Kamp (Sacramento, Calif./Rosemont)
The junior averaged a finish time of 34:18 across each of the Bears' five originally scheduled meets. Her best time this season came at the St. Joseph's Invitational in mid-October, crossing the finish at 29:08.

Men's Cross Country: Joshua Gordon (Brooklyn, N.Y./Bishop Loughlin)
Gordon completed each 8k meet in under an hour, finishing the St. Joseph's Invitational in a season-best time of 48:32. The senior was also men's basketball's All-Sportsmanship recipient last season.

Women's Soccer: Casey Hobbs (Surprise, Ariz./Valley Vista)
Hobbs started in each of the 10 matches she played this season. She scored her lone goal of the season in a defeat of Yeshiva. This is Hobbs' second consecutive All-Sportsmanship selection.

Men's Soccer: Christian Chimborazo (Elmhurst, N.Y./Queens Technical)
The defender-turned-goalkeeper made 16 saves against Rutgers-Newark, his first career match between the sticks, en route to Skyline Defensive Player of the Week honors. He finished the season with 56 saves and a pair of clean sheets.

Women's Volleyball: Danielle Bourne (Brooklyn, N.Y./Christ the King)
In 12 appearances, Bourne compiled a season total of 10 digs and six service aces. The two-sport student-athlete also participated in each of the Bears' cross-country meets.

The St. Joseph's University, NY (Brooklyn) athletic department would like to congratulate our five All-Sportsmanship recipients.
