Eight Lady Bears Earn HVWAC Fall All-Academic Honors

Eight Lady Bears were named to the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) All-Academic Team. Lauren Conter, Hannah Darnell, Teresa Mangan, Jessica Gargano, Melissa Maloy, Krysta Verdone, Victoria LoBosco and Jennifer Moncino receive the honor for their excellence in the classroom and in the field of play.

Lady Bears Volleyball Upset By Culinary in HVWAC Semis

Top-seeded St. Joseph's (14-7) fell 3-1 to HVWAC Tournament runner-up Culinary in the semifinals. The Lady Bears threatened to force a fifth-and-deciding set building a 22-15 lead in the 4th set, but couldn't convert two set points. Lauren GaNun led the Lady Bears with a match-high 13 kills. Kim Matthews recorded a 10 kill, 19 dig double-double. Megan Moran added 11 kills.
HVWAC Soccer & Volleyball Championship Previews

Both Lady Bears soccer and volleyball teams are in action on Sunday with a shot to claim their respective conference titles. Soccer vs. Berkeley at CSI at noon. Volleyball at HVWAC semifinals at Culinary Institute at 3 pm.
GaNun and O’Neill Selected AD3I Rookie and Coach of the Year; Four Receive All-Independent Honors

Freshman Lauren Ganun and senior Kim Matthews were selected to the Association of Division III Independents First-Team All-Independent. Junior Sabrina Cornia was named Second-Team All-Independent. Junior Megan Moran received All-Independent Honorable Mention. Fifth-year head coach Kathleen named Coach of the Year for the first time in her career.

Lady Bears Volleyball Closes Regular Season With Five-Set Loss to St. Joseph's (Long Island)

Kim Matthews recorded her eighth double-double (15 kills, 13 digs, five aces), Lauren GaNun put down 13 kills and Sabrina Cornia matched a season-high 39 assists, but the Lady Bears (14-6, 6-0 HVWAC) couldn't hold off sibling Golden Eagles after building a two-set advantage.
Lady Bears Sweep Sarah Lawrence to Capture HVWAC Regular Season Title

In a HVWAC battle between the two remaining unbeaten teams, St. Joseph's (14-5, 6-0) captured their first regular season title since 2008 with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-21, 27-25) sweep of Sarah Lawrence. Lauren GaNun had a match-high 13 kills while Kim Matthews (10 kills, 13 digs) and Sabrina Cornia (31 assists, 13 digs) turned in double-double efforts.

Despite having three match points, the Lady Bears volleyball team couldn’t hold off Lehman College, falling in five sets in a see-saw battle on Monday night. Lauren GaNun led a balanced St. Joseph’s attack putting down eight kills, landing three aces and stuffing a match- and career-high six blocks.
