Hudson Valley All-Academic Teams Announced

The Hudson Valley Men’s Athletic Conference (HVMAC) and the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) released their All-Academic Teams for the Winter/Spring semester. In total, 13 Bears and Lady Bears received All-Academic Team recognition, pushing the total to 18 for the 2010-11 academic year.
Nine Named to USCAA All-Academic Team

In an announcement made by the conference earlier this week, nine members of St. Joseph’s College have been named to the USCAA All-Academic Team.
Lady Bears Take Second Place at Conference Meet

Six Lady Bears earned medals Saturday afternoon at the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Invitational. The team took second place honors for the second straight year trailing only Sarah Lawrence in the final team scoring.
Reilly Shines on Senior Night as Lady Bears Complete First Winning Season

Three members of the St. Joseph’s College women’s swim team competed in the final home meet of their careers. Dashana Payne (Brooklyn, NY/Erasmus), Jenna DeFillippo (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall) and Brianne Reilly (Queens, NY/Frank Sinatra) took to the pool one last time at Brooklyn Technical High School, and each played a role in the 49-34 victory over Old Westbury. The win gave the Lady Bears their first winning season (6-5) in program history.
Lady Bears Sail Past Mount Saint Vincent

The St. Joseph’s College women’s swimming team jumped back into the pool Saturday after being idle for over a month. The team showed little rust however, as they defeated Mount Saint Vincent, 50-36.
McMaster Sets School Record, Lady Bears Three Meet Winning Streak Halted

The St. Joseph’s College women’s swimming team lost its first meet of the calendar year Sunday afternoon, 129-103, to defending HVWAC champions, Sarah Lawrence. The Lady Bears are now 5-5 on the season and 1-1 in the conference.
McMaster and Sonnylal Sweep HVWAC Weekly Accolades

After leading the St. Joseph's College women’s swim team to their second win of the season junior Kristen McMaster (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall) and sophomore Laura Sonnylal (Richmond Hill, NY/Archbishop Molloy) were named the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Swimmer and Rookie of the Week for the week ending December 12, 2010.
McMaster and O’Hara Set School Records in Patchogue Double Dual

The annual East meets West matchup between St. Joseph’s College Patchogue and St. Joseph’s College Brooklyn kicked off with the women swimming in a tri-match alongside the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA). Kristen McMaster (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall) set two season’s bests and established a new school record in the 50 yard freestyle, and Olivia O'Hara (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall)broke her own record in the 100 yard backstroke, but it wasn’t enough as the Lady Bears fell to the Patchogue campus 53-39 and USMMA 68-25.
Lady Bears Upend St. Elizabeth

Junior Kristen McMaster (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall) won two events and set two personal bests helping the Lady Bears swim team defeat the St. Elizabeth Eagles 61-49. The Lady Bears took first place in six individual events as well as the 200 yard medley relay.
Lady Bears Fall to SUNY Purchase

Olivia O'Hara (Brooklyn, NY/Fontbonne Hall) set two season’s bests as the St. Joseph’s College women’s swim team (1-2) lost to Purchase College 77-40. First, in the 200 yard intermediate, O’Hara broke three minutes for the first time this season, finishing in 2:59.28. Later, in the 100 yard backstroke, O’Hara finished second in 1:22.11. She also paced the 200 yard freestyle relay to a first place finish with a time of 2:05.47.
Lady Bears Come up Short Against Brooklyn College

The Lady Bears swim team put forth a quality effort, but came up short in a meet at Brooklyn College 70-51. St. Joseph’s had four girls and one relay team finish in first place at the meet.
Women's Swimming Opens Season With Conference Win

The St. Joseph’s College women’s swim team kicked off their second full varsity season with a victory over Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference foe, New Rochelle 57-29. In front of a large crowd at Brooklyn Technical High School, the Lady Bears were in charge from start to finish.
