Varsity Sports to Compete in New Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

Eight Lady Bears Earn HVWAC Fall All-Academic Honors

Eight Lady Bears were named to the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) All-Academic Team. Lauren Conter, Hannah Darnell, Teresa Mangan, Jessica Gargano, Melissa Maloy, Krysta Verdone, Victoria LoBosco and Jennifer Moncino receive the honor for their excellence in the classroom and in the field of play.
Lady Bears Soccer Concludes Successful Rookie Campaign With 6-1 Triumph Over Yeshiva

The Lady Bears trio of All-HVWAC honorees combined for all six goals in a 6-1 non-conference win over Yeshiva to conclude their inaugural season with a 7-4-2 record. Daniela Semilia recorded her first hat trick, Pamela Chernyakhovsky had a goal with three assists and Daniella Valencia added a pair of goals.

Lady Bears to host Yeshiva University on Sunday, November 18 at 10:30 am. Bears to host CCNY on Wednesday, November 21 at 8:30 pm. Both games will take place at Aviator Sports Complex.

Backed by Daniela Semilia who was named Tournament MVP for her defensive efforts, St. Joseph's defeated Berkeley College, 2-0, to capture the 2012 Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Soccer Championship in their inaugural season. Pamela Chernyakhovsky and Daniella Valencia each scored goals in the win.

Top-seeded St. Joseph's (5-4-2) bypassed #4 Medgar Evers to earn a spot in the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference championship game. The Lady Bears will face #2 Berkeley for the title on Sunday, November 11 at noon at the College of Staten Island.

Junior Nicole Farinella, freshman Pamela Chernyakhovsky and sophomore Shannon Rom named Association of Division III Independents First-Team All-Independent. Junior Cynthia Gambino and freshman Daniella Valencia named to second team. Farinella selected Defensive Player of the Year, Chernyakhovsky Rookie of the Year.

Cynthia Gambino was named USCAA Women's Soccer Second Team All-American. Pamela Chernyakovsky and Nicole Farinella were granted All-American Honorable Mention. Jessica Gargano, Melissa Maloy and Krysta Verdone were each selected to the National All-Academic Team.
