Megafu Named AD3I Rookie of the Year, Cocozello Coach of the Year as Four Bears Land on All-Independent Teams

Freshman Michael Megafu was named AD3I Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Independent while sophomore David Louison was also named to the First Team. Coach Joseph Cocozello was named Coach of the Year and senior Jan Rogowski and freshman Matt O'Neill both earned Second Team All-Independent Honors.

Sophomore David Louison was named the Association of Division III Independents Student-Athlete of the Month for the month of February after averaging a double-double during the month while recording his 13th and 14th double-doubles of the season.

The Bears shrank a 22-point deficit to three points with one minute to play, but #8 St. Joseph's fell to #4 Lindenwood-Belleville 81-74 on Thursday afternoon in their USCAA consolation game closing the season at 16-13. Jan Rogowski led SJC with 16 points. David Louison recorded his 14th double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Michael Megafu had 15 points and eight rebounds.

#8 St. Joseph's (16-12) couldn't play Cinderella against #1 Rochester in the first round of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association National Tournament falling 75-53 in the Bears' first appearance in the Championships since 2007. Senior Jan Rogowski led the Bears with 12 points and Matt O'Neill netted 10 points.
