Varsity Sports to Compete in New Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

All 13 SJC varsity sports will now compete under the Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference starting this Fall.
Ten Lady Bears Earn HVWAC Winter/Spring All-Academic Honors

Eleven Student-Athletes Named to 2013 USCAA National All-Academic Team

Raul Urshela and Javier Bosque from men’s volleyball; Victoria LoBosco, Danielle Marino, Teresa Mangan, Krysta Verdone and Patricia Nealon from women’s tennis; and Haley Betancourt, Erin Collins, Jaclyn Montana and Laura Sonnylal from women's swimming were named to the 2013 Non-USCAA Sports National All-Academic Team.
Lady Bears Swimming Defeats Cedar Crest on Senior Night

St. Joseph's captured 10-of-11 events to close out their 2012-13 campaign with a 52-29 victory over Cedar Crest on Senior Night. Senior Laura Sonnylal closed out her career with victories in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Freshman Morgan Summers collected wins in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke.

Freshmen Morgan Summers and Tina Wong collected the maximum four medals each as St. Joseph's finished in second at the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Championships. Rebecca Sacerio, Laura Sonnylal and Jaclyn Montana also medaled for the Lady Bears.
Lady Bears Swimming Levels Record With Sweep of Div. II Post and New Rochelle

St. Joseph's (5-5) improved to .500 on the season with a narrow 47-45 victory over Division II Post University and a 69-26 triumph over HVWAC foes New Rochelle. Morgan Summers added a third record to her name in the 500-yard freestyle, lowering the mark by over a half-a-minute.

Freshman Morgan Summers earned Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Swimming Player of the Week after taking home two individual victories and leading her relay to a victory as the Lady Bears beat New Rochelle and lost to John Jay in a double-dual meet on Friday.

The Lady Bears home swimming dual meet vs. John Jay College has been cancelled and will not be rescheduled. The Lady Bears return to the pool on January 19, 2013 in an HVWAC dual meet against Sarah Lawrence College.
Women's Swimming vs. New Rochelle Postponed; Home Meet Added

The Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference swimming dual vs. the College of New Rochelle scheduled for tomorrow at the CNR Wellness Center has been postponed. No makeup date has been set at this time. A home meet vs. Cedar Crest has been added on Friday, February 8th, 2013.

The annual sibling rivalry between the Brooklyn and Patchogue saw the Lady Bears lead through eight events and the winner decided by the final event, but Brooklyn dropped a 51-43 decision in the annual East vs. West matchup. The Lady Bears dominated Old Westbury winning all-but-one event to notch a 74-19 victory.

Freshman Morgan Summers was named Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Rookie of the Week after leading St. Joseph's to their first victory of the season over Lehman producing victories in all three events she swam including setting a new school record in the 200 IM.
Lady Bears Swimming Defeats Lehman in Home Opener; Bears Club Swimming Makes Debut

The Lady Bears won 10 of 11 events en route to a 72-22 victory over Lehman College in their 2012 home opener at Brooklyn Technical High School. Morgan Summers led the Lady Bears to three wins and set another school record in the 200 yard IM. The men's club team also recorded one win and were edged out by less than a second in two other events.
